"Yoon Byung Rock Solo Exhibition | Artist Talk in New York Gallery AP Space" offers an in-depth look at Yoon Byung-Rock's solo

Gallery AP Space presents Rust and Resonance, a compelling solo exhibition by South Korean artist Kim JongKu. Recognized for his meditative use of industrial materials, Kim creates immersive works that merge sculpture, calligraphy, and performance into a single poetic gesture. His art invites viewers to contemplate time, transience, and transformation.

In this exhibition, Kim moves away from traditional sculpture, instead using finely ground iron powder collected from his own studio floor. These delicate particles, once remnants of steel, are reimagined into flowing, calligraphic compositions that appear to hover between drawing and installation. Spread across the floor or subtly suspended in space, they express a quiet tension between material weight and visual lightness.

Rust and Resonance features selections from Kim’s ongoing fe-Plant and Mind Map series, as well as video works that capture his performative installations in motion. Each piece reflects a deep engagement with impermanence, echo, and the subtle rhythms of time. Through these works, Kim offers a profound meditation on how meaning can be shaped through process rather than permanence.

Gallery AP Space, located in New York, is dedicated to presenting innovative work by both emerging and established artists. With a focus on contemporary practices that blend tradition and experimentation, the gallery serves as a platform for cross-cultural dialogue and creative exchange.
