Ha Tae-Im: A Beacon of Contemporary Korean Art
Born in 1973, Ha Tae-Im stands as a living testament to the artistic vigor flowing through her lineage. As
the eldest daughter of renowned painters Ha In-du and Ryu Min-ja, Tae-im’s life was destined to be
colored with creativity.
Ha Tae-im’s commitment to refining her craft led her to the esteemed corridors of the National Academy
of Fine Arts in both Dijon and Paris. After immersing herself in European techniques, she returned home,
securing a doctorate in painting from Hongik University's College of Fine Arts in 2012.
Worldwide, Ha Tae-im is celebrated as an emblematic artist of OKNP. This recognition was affirmed when
she was invited to the ‘30 Contemporary Artists Interested in Korea’ exhibition at the Seoul Arts Center,
standing alongside the giants of Korean art like Park Seo-bo and Ha Chong-hyun.
In a defining moment for both global politics and Ha’s career, her art graced the world stage during the
2018 North American summit at the Capella Hotel, Singapore. As leaders from the US and North Korea
extended hands in a historic gesture, Ha Tae-im's work was broadcast live, setting an artistic backdrop to
a momentous occasion.
Continually pushing boundaries, Ha crossed over into the automotive world. In a synergistic collaboration
with Bentley, the Bentley Continental GT Limited Edition emerged, adorned with Ha’s unmistakable
signature color band design.
From the Seoul Museum of Art to the Monaco Museum of Contemporary Art, Ha Tae-im's masterpieces
have found homes in revered institutions and collections globally. Her influence also extends to major
corporations, such as the Doosan Group, emphasizing her vast reach and enduring legacy in the art
world.
