FRANCISCO VALVERDE

Discover the captivating art of Francisco Valverde: a Cuban-Mexican artist hailing from Cuernavaca, Mexico, and now based in Mexico City. Valverde’s journey as an artist began with teaching traditional techniques, but it was his students’ quest for individual expression that fueled his own artistic exploration. Breaking away from conventional tools and materials, Valverde embraced colorful synthetic substances and bottle dispensers to create bold and powerful lines in his large-scale works. These lines defy tradition, embracing imperfection and creating a rhythmic structure that tells a story. Valverde describes his current work as a combination of obsession and freedom: the obsession of daily routine intertwined with the freedom of exploring artistic possibilities. His commitment to tradition is evident in the smooth finishes of his paintings. With a BA in Fine Arts from the University Art Center College of Design in California, Valverde’s talent has been recognized through numerous international exhibitions and inclusion in prestigious biennials such as the Rufino Tamayo Biennial at the Contemporary Museum Rufino Tamayo. Experience the art of Francisco Valverde and delve into a world where lines become storytellers.
